Payments, Withdrawals, Cancellations, & Refunds Policy

The College Field Semester in Regenerative Design is an immersive, cohort-based academic program that requires advance commitments related to housing, staffing, food service, field travel, permits, and partner agreements. The following summary explains how payments, withdrawals, and refunds are handled.
Total Program Cost: $24,500
This includes:

$22,500 paid to the Western Slope Institute (WSI) for instruction, housing, meals, transportation, field travel, equipment, and program operations.

$2,000 paid directly to Prescott College for 16 academic credits.
Prescott College tuition is included in the total cost shown but is paid separately to Prescott College and is subject to Prescott College’s own refund policies.

Withdrawal & Refund Schedule (WSI Portion)
All withdrawals must be submitted in writing. Refunds are based on the date notice is received.
On or before May 15, 2026

Enrollment deposit refunded minus $250 administrative fee

No other payments will have been due at this time
May 16 – June 30, 2026

Enrollment deposit becomes non-refundable

No additional tuition or program fees are due during this period
July 1 – July 21, 2026

Enrollment deposit and $5,000 commitment payment are non-refundable

If the final balance has already been paid, 50% of the remaining WSI tuition and program fees may be refunded
On or after July 22, 2026

No refunds of WSI tuition, program fees, or deposits
After the Program Begins (August 22, 2026)

Once the program has started, no refunds are issued for: Tuition or program fees Housing, meals, travel, or instruction

This includes voluntary withdrawal due to: Homesickness, discomfort with group dynamics, preference for a different experience, or change of personal interest.
Dismissal for Policy Violations
Students are expected to follow WSI policies, including:

Community and Behavioral Agreements provided by Western Slope Institute and Deer Hill Expeditions

Substance Use Policy

Safety Protocols

Technology & Communication Expectations
If a student is asked to leave the program due to policy violations:

No refunds are issued

Families are responsible for return travel costs
Medical Withdrawal & Exceptional Circumstances
In cases of serious illness, injury, or family emergency, WSI may review requests for a partial refund of the WSI portion only, at its discretion. Documentation may be required.
Prescott College Tuition

Refunds of the $2,000 Prescott College tuition are:

Managed entirely by Prescott College

Subject to Prescott College’s add/drop and withdrawal deadlines

Not administered by WSI
Program Cancellation by WSI
If WSI cancels the program due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disasters or public health emergencies):

All WSI payments will be refunded in full

The enrollment deposit will be refunded

Prescott College tuition refunds follow Prescott College policies

The Field Semester is intentionally immersive and community-based. By enrolling, families acknowledge that participation requires adaptability, accountability, and commitment to shared agreements. Withdrawal due to dissatisfaction or personal preference does not constitute grounds for refund.
